Cold Sores

Can Supplements Aid in Easing Symptoms of Cold Sores?

What are Cold Sores?

Cold sores are an indication of a lack of tissue calcium reserves in your body. A cold sore can be very painful and even embarrassing. It can make life just very uncomfortable while it appears on your lip or mouth area. It appears as a blister usually found on your lip or somewhere around the mouth.

What are the symptoms of a Cold Sore?

It tends to be a burning sensation on your lip or around the mouth area.  Then you will get a blister like sore that will appear in the area where you are having the burning sensation.

What is the Root Cause for a Cold Sore?

The root cause of a cold sore is an infection caused by the Herpes Simplex Type I virus because of a decrease in tissue calcium, however, after getting this virus, other situations can cause a break-out. Things that can trigger an outbreak are things such as stress which can deplete the calcium in your body, too much time in the sun which pulls the calcium out of your tissues and into the bloodstream – depleting your tissue calcium. So notice if your body is becoming overly warm when you are out in the sun and supplement with Cataplex F.

During the cold sore season avoid intake of beer, chocolate, soft drinks, and sugar.

Eat foods that have the essential amino acids L-lysine (essential, meaning you have to get it from your diet) such as wild-caught fish. Or take an essential amino acids supplement such as Protefood from Standard Process.

Is there anything Natural that can be done for Cold Sores?

Avoid sugar of any kind if you’re going to be outside in the sun. If you feel a cold sore coming on, immediately take 6 Cal-Amo tablets and two every hour until the pain subsides, which should be witing two days. Then you need to push your blood calcium into your tissues with Cataplex F, and also take Calcium if you’re not eating a lot of calcium-rich foods. And simply follow the protocol below for optimal healing. With the natural whole food supplement protocol below you will have support for healing both internally and externally.

Take The Symptom Survey

In order of importance:
Cal-Amo, Take 6 immediately upon the emergence of a cold sore. Then take 2 every hour until the pain subsides. This helps acidify the body which will help heal the cold sore. A body that has a high alkaline pH is the opportunistic environment for the growth of pathogens.
Protefood,1 a day. 8 essential amino acids, including L-lysine essential in fighting cold sores. These amino acids are required to rebuild all collagenous fibers in the body. Helps with wrinkles, varicose veins, spider veins, fatigue, stress, muscle stiffness/soreness. Supports the endocrine system and all cell function/repair. Completes amino acids in the blood, reducing viscosity thus reducing blood pressure. Has necessary amino acids required to build collagen – thus helping to rebuild and repair every organ and system in the body.
Cataplex F Tablets, 6 when going out in the sun, then 3 in the morning and night thereafter. Essential fatty acids that push calcium into the tissues of your body.
Calcium Lactate, 3 tablets every 3 hours, then 3 at night for prevention. You can also use calcium lactate topically as well for immediate & strong healing power–– lick the tablet and hold it topically directly on a cold sore, or use the powdered Calcium Lactate.
Congaplex, 9/day for immune building
Echinacea Premium tablets, 3-4 tablets/day or 8mL a day. Fountain of Youth herb. Major Immune modulating herb, Regular long term use fortifies and strengthens your immune alliances and vascular integrity. Allows you to cope with every day, ever-changing and new stress responses. Anti-aging tonic, cancer preventative. Anti-inflammatory.
St. John’s Wort tabs or 1.8g liquid, 4 tablets, or 5 mL twice daily (on an empty stomach if possible). Make sure to also put a drop or two of the liquid onto the cold sore topically at least twice daily. This is for an envelope virus –– which Herpes Simplex Type I is. Calms nerves. Supports the body’s natural ability to cope with the changes in everyday life.

Additional helpful items:
Calendula, Use a drop or two topically on the cold sore, twice a day.
Chaste Tree, Add if cyclical with menstruation, 2 mL at night. Also helps with sleep and acne.

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING BULLETS BEFORE USING THIS PROTOCOL
  • The protocol above is designed to address your issues at the foundational level, and not to treat disease. This means, in our opinion, most of our health problems, short of accident or trauma, are of a dietary nutritional deficiency. The listed protocol or supplement provides your body with essential micro and macronutrients to help and assist normal nutritional balance.
  • Daily dosage are in ( ) parenthesis for most protocols; for example (6) means take 6 per day, but spread it out by taking half in the morning and half in the evening. Some protocols will have more specific instructions to follow.
  • MediHerb products, shown in italics, often speed healing response and should be considered for most protocols unless contraindicated.
  • We recommend adding the General Health Daily Fundamentals pack to each protocol. This adds in the critical foundational nutrition each protocol needs. It contains Catalyn––an entirely whole-food and glandular broad-spectrum multivitamin, Trace Minerals-B12, and Tuna Omega-3 pearls for your DHA and EPA omega 3 fatty acids daily requirements.
  • Spacing out the daily doses throughout the day improves absorption and is strongly recommended.
  • Most supplements should be taken with food except for PMG’s, most calcium products, Gastrex, Chlorophyll Complex™, Okra Pepsin E3, Cholocol II and Zymex II. Also, most herbs work more efficiently if taken away from food.
  • Be advised that these nutritional and herbal products are not intended as a primary therapy for any disease, but rather to provide nutritional and herbal support to help normalize body physiology and repair.

  1. Angela says:

Viruses are phooey, hsv is caused by toxicity which depletes calcium bc calcium alkalizes the toxic hence acidic terrain. The skin becomes thin w calcium deficiency and pink tissues are already thin therefore those w show signs first. I read an article earlier that claimed using activated charcoal healed outbreaks bc it’s (charcoal) a drug delivery system LOL ppl are warned not to take activated charcoal w prescription drugs bc it can bind to and remove the pharmaceutical drug (toxins bc that’s what activated charcoal does, duh) from your system. The corrupt allopathic community crack me up spouting this type of garbage! Nearly all disease is lack of nutrition and a high body burden of environmental toxins. When charcoal or bentonite clay can heal something you’re safe in assuming the illness is from toxicity. In addition to thin skin bc of calcium deficiency think about how many chemicals are in toilet paper, feminine products and any other agent that we put down there …. Jock itch, yeast infections, spermicides; it’s no wonder we have issues there! Lol
