Adrenal Exhaustion, sometimes called Addison’s Disease is thought to be wildly under-diagnosed or misdiagnosed in the U.S. population.
What Causes Adrenal Exhaustion or Addison’s Disease?
There are numerous potential causes for the gradual failure of adrenal glands. The Addison’s Disease patient often suffers from larger endocrine system problems brought on by environmental factors, nutrition, and as usual, stress. Both generalized and acute levels of stress can induce major episodes of adrenal exhaustion, as the already taxed system tries to keep up with the demands to produce adequate levels of adrenaline for given situations.
What Are The Symptoms of Adrenal Exhaustion
The primary symptoms of adrenal exhaustion or Addison’s Disease are:
- Trouble getting out of bed in the morning
- Chronic tiredness even after you wake up in the morning
- Trouble thinking clearly or finishing assigned tasks
This usually is attributed to constant stress, from varying reasons, but nutrition is not sufficiently studied or remedied in most cases of Addisons. Whole food sources of adrenal glands and hypothalamus can be found at most local butchers, but are not a pleasant solution for most people. The concentrated whole food supplements in our protocol below are a more realistic method of getting the nutrition your body needs to nourish your endocrine system end-to-end. The Ageless Thyroid will support to loop your hypothalamus, pituitary, and adrenal hormonal axis (HPA Axis) back together and the other supplements will support the structure and function of the adrenal gland specifically.
If you suffer from symptoms of exhaustion, but also experience regular anxiety you may have a different, but related condition known as Hypoadrenia. You can learn about the slightly different symptoms of Hypoadrenia and our protocol for Hypoadrenia here.

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING BULLETS BEFORE USING THIS PROTOCOL
- The protocol above is designed to address your issues at the foundational level, and not to treat disease. This means, in our opinion, most of our health problems, short of accident or trauma, are of a dietary nutritional deficiency. The listed protocol or supplement provides your body with essential micro and macronutrients to help and assist normal nutritional balance.
- Daily dosage are in ( ) parenthesis for most protocols; for example (6) means take 6 per day, but spread it out by taking half in the morning and half in the evening. Some protocols will have more specific instructions to follow.
- MediHerb products, shown in italics, often speed healing response and should be considered for most protocols unless contraindicated.
- We recommend adding the General Health Daily Fundamentals pack to each protocol. This adds in the critical foundational nutrition each protocol needs. It contains Catalyn––an entirely whole-food and glandular broad-spectrum multivitamin, Trace Minerals-B12, and Tuna Omega-3 pearls for your DHA and EPA omega 3 fatty acids daily requirements.
- Spacing out the daily doses throughout the day improves absorption and is strongly recommended.
- Most supplements should be taken with food except for PMG’s, most calcium products, Gastrex, Chlorophyll Complex™, Okra Pepsin E3, Cholocol II and Zymex II. Also, most herbs work more efficiently if taken away from food.
- Be advised that these nutritional and herbal products are not intended as a primary therapy for any disease, but rather to provide nutritional and herbal support to help normalize body physiology and repair.
