What Is a Abrasion?

An abrasion can be anywhere on the body and can range from a scratch that has been irritated on the skin, to a chunk of skin missing.  Any cut or scraped tissue exposing the next layer of cells is considered an abrasion. Exposing new layers of skin on the body to bacteria and dirt that it would normally be protected would be considered an abrasion from.
